Ready to Try a 1 on 1 Acting Consultation? Here are Some FAQ’s to Get You Started
After many years working with both new and experienced actors, we understand that many of our clients want more detail before they book a consultation with John Rosenfeld or one of our acting coach faculty members.
For a new, first-time acting student, working one-on-one with an acting coach who has helped highly esteemed, award-winning actors in the field can be a little intimidating. For experienced actors looking to hone in on specific skills or find areas where they need improvement or growth, they understandably want to ensure the consultation will begin to accomplish what they are seeking, and that the acting coach is the best choice for them.
At John Rosenfeld Studios in Los Angeles, we want to make sure you feel completely comfortable knowing our 1 on 1 consultations with a top acting coach are the right fit for you. So, we are using this blog to delve into some of the most frequently asked questions about our acting consultations. Let’s begin!
What is the purpose of a 1 to 1 consultation with a top acting coach?
A consultation is the first step to getting involved at John Rosenfeld Studios. JRS is completely focused on our student’s success, and how to help you achieve (and exceed!) your acting goals.
This is a space for us to get to know you, see how you work, and figure out the best path for you at JRS. It also gives you a chance to get a feel for our studio as you begin your journey with us.
How do I book an appointment for a 1 to 1 consultation?
You can book a 1 on 1 acting consultation by clicking here and filling out the form at the bottom of the page. Then we will reach out and take it from there!
How much does an acting consultation cost with an acting coach at JRS?
A 1 on 1 consultation with John is $135 and a 1 on 1 consultation with a top-level faculty member is $105.
Are they only in person?
No! You can choose to do a 1 on 1 acting consultation in person or via zoom.
If I live remotely, can I do the consultation on my mobile phone?
Yes. If you have reliable internet connection, good lighting, a solid set up, and have downloaded the zoom app to your phone, you can absolutely join that way. We are finding more and more students are choosing to take advantage of our zoom consultations. Once you sign up for an acting consultation, we can help you get set up properly to maximize the experience.
Who would I be working with in a 1 to 1 consultation?
For your 1 on 1 consultation you can choose to either work with John Rosenfeld or one of our other qualified faculty members.
Can I use the consultation to help with a specific need, like audition coaching or scene study?
As part of the consultation, you will bring in 2-3 pages of material to work on to get a feel of how we work here at JRS. If you are an experienced actor, you are welcome to bring in an old audition or a scene you are working on, but it is not meant to be used as a replacement for audition coaching or scene study. The main focus is for us to get to know you and for you to get to know us.
Can I set up regular 1 to 1 consultations in advance, like once a week?
Absolutely. It is best to plan to set up your 1 on 1 consultations in advance as the demand is great for these consultations—available space can fill up.
