"Guest Star" Casting Class with Jamie Castro
- Q&A
- How to look at a “Guest Star” audition for a network show.
- Self-Tapes - the dos and don’ts.
- Her perspective on the casting process.
- “Guest Star” Sides will be provided to actors at least 48 hours prior to class.
- Each actor will perform the sides with a provided reader.
- Jamie will give notes and feedback.
- A discussion on how Casting looks at your Actors Access page.
- Jamie will take a quick glance at your current page and give a few pointers from her perspective.

mVm takes the ineffable magic of those special moments in performance we all remember and grounds it into a clear, practical system—helping actors unlock and build compelling performances, and gain an ownership of their process.
What we’ll cover:
- Why do we pay attention to some people immediately and not others?
- The secret relationship between audience and performer—once you see this you can’t unsee it!
- What’s really in the way of me seeing and hearing my partner?
- What is actually happening between two actors in performance?
- Why does one performance feel more “interesting” than another?
- How can I repeat this magic of attention holding once I experience it?
- How can we take up more space?
- What the *actual* job of an actor is…spoiler :/ it’s not to feel stuff!
- How to experience free fall and flying as an actor rather than the binds of THINKING
Participants will bring a piece of text (a short monologue or a couple speeches from a scene) to work through using the technique. Also bring a yoga mat (if you got one) for more comfortable floor work and please wear clothes you can move in.

Casting Class
with Kendra Castleberry
- The casting process from script to shooting
- How episodic TV auditions vary from auditions for pilots, film or theatre
- The basics of script analysis (who, what, where, when, why?)
- The importance of watching “TV” as homework and how to gain insight from it for your auditions
- Feeling and conveying confidence in your audition
- The role of the casting director
- A selection of sides will be sent out to actors 48 hours prior to class.
- Actors will work on sides 1-on-1 with Kendra but in front of the entire class.
- Thoughtful and specific feedback will be given to each actor with a selected section run again to incorporate educational notes.
- There will also be a time for Q&A, allowing actors to get clarity on anything they saw in class or get specific answers on topics of their choosing.

With over 20 years of experience, Amber Horn and Danielle Aufiero are known for discovering breakout talent and championing authentic, diverse storytelling in film and television. Together, they have cast over 75 features, pilots, and series for top studios and streamers including Netflix, Disney, Apple, Warner Bros., and Paramount. They are two-time Emmy Award-winning casting directors and are recipients of multiple Artios Awards. Amber and Danielle are passionate about building inclusive casts, supporting underrepresented voices, and mentoring the next generation of actors and filmmakers.
